Langley Point

Birmingham, UK
Passive Chilled Beams

Frenger's environmentally friendly "Radiant" Passive Beam technology was chosen for this 44,500 sq ft striking angular building standing in the heart of Birmingham's City Centre. As Frenger's chilled beams provide cooling via radiant absorption the client was able to demonstrate that the concrete slab, metal ceiling system, and raised floor with displacement ventilation were all part of the energy saving cooling / heating system which resulted in tax savings for all the aforementioned building components; something which would not have been possible using a convective only solution.

Despite not yet being fully completed, Langley Point played host to the British Council for Offices' (BCO) new 'Guide to Fit Out' seminar. The scheme, now in its second edition, sets out to shape best practices in office design. Chosen for its excellent energy efficiency, the impressive Langley Point sets new standards in sustainable building design. With a BREEAM rating of Excellent, Frenger have once again demonstrated how their unique Radiant cooling element can deliver high cooling duties whilst also significantly contributing to the overall green initiative of the building.
