Frenger supplied highly efficient Active Multiservice Chilled Beams (MSCBs) to this heritage style building as part of he transformation of the inside of the building to be a large open plan area that appears to be clinically clean, light and airy whilst ultra energy efficient and which has the facility to be segregated for future cellular offices at all locations of removable plain joining strips. The energy performance certificate for Beaufort House is EPC “B” and similarly the BREEAM rating is “Very Good”.
Frenger not only in-house manufactured the Active Chilled Beams cooling engines but also in-house manufactured the lighting for LG7 compliance with PIR control and is Dali compatible.
Beaufort House is a new headquarters office building in the heart of Guildford. This commercial refurbishment saw the reconstruction of the main staircase and service core and a complete strip-out of the three-story building’s interior and basement area. 2,840m2 of new high quality office accommodation was constructed with a ground floor reception area and private car park along with new shower and toilet facilities for both the able and disabled. Emergency exits have been provided to the north and south elevations and two lifts were installed, running from the basement to the second floor level.
As part of the extension, the large central courtyard was built upon and integrated into the existing floor space by removing some of the superstructure, creating large flexible open plan office space.
New plant rooms were fitted in the basement and a new garden was placed at ground floor level using a variety of soft and hard landscaping. Finally, new curtain walling was installed to the rear façade.
