1 Shelly Street, Sydney | 2009| passive chilled beam above ceiling |
  |
The utilisation of Frenger’s Carat radiant chilled beams throughout Macquarie Bank’s new harbour side office at One Shelley Street has made a significant contribution to the building’s attainment of a GBCA 6 Star Green Star Rating. The building claims new levels of sustainability – it claims to cut greenhouse emissions by 50% compared to a conventional Sydney office building - and has received numerous accolades including the 2010 Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards (Overall Winner/Award for Office Developments).
Frenger undertook extensive project scenario testing at their UK laboratories to demonstrate the environmental conditions that will be realised in the various internal spaces, including general office areas, meeting rooms and offices for senior staff. The striking external facade treatment of this 10-story 32,000m complex makes it a new Sydney landmark and Frenger are justifiably proud to have supplied nearly 2000 of their unique Carat-H-84 radiant chilled beam to the project

The Bond, Sydney | 2003/04 | passive chilled beam above ceiling |
  |
This landmark building is the first major Australasian project to utilise chilled beams. Further to extensive project testing at the Company’s UK and Swedish facilities Frenger’s Carat Radiant/Convective passive chilled beam was selected. The chilled beam layout had to accommodate future partitioning and fit-out requirements, whilst delivering exceptional comfort levels under the most extreme external conditions.
The Bond has received many national and international awards and the utilisation of passive chilled beams has meant that it is the first Australian commercial building to achieve the much-acclaimed 5-Star energy usage rating (Australian Building Greenhouse Rating)
